W....The President

Well today I voted and if it not too terribly obvious by the title of this post who I voted for I will say that yes I voted for George W. Bush it makes me feel good to see the amount of people that I saw today at the polls. This election is not just any election, and I know that sounds cliche but I honestly think that this election has future implication riding on it. For instance where we will go morally as a country and other stuff such as the security of this nation against terrorism. The fact of the matter the church should determine where this country goes morally but I believe you need the right candidate in office to help us in that direction.

Alas I digress; I'm starting to sound like a politician enough of this political flotsum. I'm enjoying the 2 days that Carson Newman is so *sarcastic cough* graciously given us for fall break and using it to relax and clear my head of all the stress that had started accumulate over the previous weeks. I go back to school for one day Wednesday then its off to New Orleans for the Seminary tour which is gonna be a lot of fun.

Fall Break

So for Carson Newman Fall Break is now upon us the majority of the students here have left for break some going to the beach for one last hoorah; others have gone home to get some much needed rest and good food for a change. I alas must remain here atleast until Sunday because of my responsibilities as an intern at FBC Mo'town. We are having special guests attending on Sunday that being the Carson Newman basketball teams. John wants special music and I being the worship leader must be there. All is not lost though after my duties have been fulfilled I will be making the trek home to K-town to spend some time with the Parental Units (Mom and Dad) and my brother. My brother asked me the other day how old you have to be to go see a R. movie; because wants to go see Team America World Police. With his plans foiled I decided that I would take him cause it looks really funny and I myself want to go see it. I'm also looking forward to seeing my friend Josh he was able to come up for the homecoming weekend last week and it was really fun having him and his very unique since of humor. Its been awhile since I've flung the frisbee golf discs so I'm looking forward to doing that. Well the semester is shaping up to be a race to the finish. I found out today that one of my favorite professors is teaching a class that I need for my major so that was a big relief cause I have had him for several classes so I'm really familiar with his teaching style so its gonna be all good. looking forward to graduating and then attending New Orleans Seminary in the fall.

Its a Funny Thing

Today in my History of Christianity class we had a guest speaker the dean of admissions from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary... What he had to say was very interesting about aspects of being "called" into the ministry he asked the class if anyone had experience a call from God several including me raised our hands indicating that we had. He went around asking us to tell how that had happen.

It was weird listening to him plugging the seminary at the end of class this afternoon(being that I've pretty much decided on New Orleans as my seminary of choices) he was asked about what the seminary stands for....He mentioned the scenario of someone being homosexual...He said that "they" the college deal with the orientation of the person however Eastern Seminary acknowledges that the bible does not condone homosexual activity. That in my mind is a contradiction sounds like to me Eastern Seminary would rather waffle on biblical principle rather than offending a homosexual person applying to their seminary.

On the subject of Seminary I'm headed down to New Orleans next weekend to tour the campus I'm looking forward to it. I hope that by going down there God will solidify his impression upon me to go to New Orleans cause at times I know I've been sitting in my room at night considering how far it is from Knoxville, TN but then I sit back realize that I have a God who loves me and Parents who love I know that if this is where I'm supposed to go then they will see to it that I'm ok.

The Long Awaited.....

Yeah its been almost a month since I posted last truth be told....I've been really bogged down by stuff that been coming due in my classes and stuff like that. We started concert band this week which for me is always met with a little animosity cause I hate switching from marching to concert so abruptly when we still have football games to be played but that's the way its been for the past 3 years I've been here at CN so I just bite my lower lip and assume my position at the end of the trumpet section. Don't get me wrong I like concert band I just enjoy marching band a whole lot more. The past two days have been hectic and sleep has been few a far between. But I made it through Wednesday and today. But yet again I can't rest on my laurels cause I have other stuff that I'm responsible for with regard to tests and that such. Speaking of Wednesday this past Wednesday night at FBC Mo'town was probably the best Wednesday nite yet before this point I as the worship leader hadn't gotten into the worship but Wednesday I just let myself fall in to loving merciful arms of my savior and he just took me to levels that I've haven't been at in a really long time it was an awesome experience.
